Symmetry Network exists to provide women the tools they need to achieve balance
throughout their different life stages. Achieving balance is not about doing
more, better; achieving balance is about doing what's important, today.
Understanding your current and next life stage is the key. Our philosophy is
that balance is best achieved when a woman chooses her priorities purposefully.
Symmetry women know that you can have it all; just not every day.
We believe that the four elements of physical, relational, intellectual, and
spiritual life must be considered, developed, and maintained in order to achieve
ultimate balance. Symmetry's goal is to provide insight and direction to women
as they look to flourish in these areas.
Through a series of one-day events, overnight retreats, books, articles, and
access to professionals who know a thing or two about balance, Symmetry provides
the inspiration and motivation every woman needs to live intentionally.
Hey Girlfriend,
Great to meet you!
I'm Ellen Miller and I am passionate about balance! Why? Because I know personally the miserable feeling you have when you're "off your game" and the joy you can have from just everyday life when you're hitting on all cylinders.
I have served as a corporate officer for a Fortune 500 company while raising a family, I am an entrepreneur - serving as the visionary for three companies, I am a wife and the mother of two grown children, and at Symmetry, it is my honor to serve you as your Chief Inspiration Officer.
Through my life-journey I have learned what balance is and isn't, how you recognize it once you have attained it, and what must be sacrificed in
order to keep it.

Some say balance is impossible. I say, "Come with me. I'll show you how."
I always enjoy making a new girlfriend!

Looking Good, Feeling Marvelous
It's hard to achieve balance without well-being. That's why Symmetry offers the
resources you need to fully invest in the stewardship of your own health: it's
what we call Looking Good, Feeling Marvelous. This physical element of balance
is critical to every woman in every life stage. So many times, we put our own
well-being on the back burner. Children, work, aging parents, tight deadlines
there's always something higher on the priority list. But taking care of your
health shouldn't be an all or nothing premise - no matter what life stage your'e
in. Let's face it, there's a reason why the flight attendant advises parents to
put on their own oxygen masks before assisting their children or aging parents;
you have to tend to yourself first or you won't have the stamina, energy, or
vitality to attend to others.
Just because you can't invest an hour at the gym every day or think tofu tastes
like tires doesn't mean you can't make healthy choices. Sometimes all you need
is a minor adjustment to your habits and attitude to get back on track. And
that's where we come in. Symmetry will provide you with good advice and
solutions to motivate you to think first and foremost of your health. Looking
good is important to most women. Feeling marvelous is critical to us all. We're
here to help you do both.

Getting Along with Me - and Everyone Else
Women thrive on relationships and communication is important to every fiber of
our being. Words. Interactions. Conversations. At Symmetry, we call this
relational element Getting Along with Me - and Everyone Else. Before we can
build lasting friendships and relationships, we have to learn to respect
ourselves. Women are hard on each other and even harder on the person looking
back in the mirror! Why are our expectations of others always so lofty? How come
wer'e constantly struggling with perfectionism? What do we do when our
self-pride or the victim status haunts us?
Regardless of your life stage - single, married, with or without children,
working or not the quality of relationship that we have with ourselves and
others has a huge impact on our balance. As we mature, women either grow wiser,
becoming more authentic and learning to give ourselves and everyone else a pass,
or we become cynical, refusing to let go of past mistakes - ours and those
committed by others. Symmetry can help you clarify why we think the way we think
and why we do what we do - and, most importantly, offer enlightenment as to how
to shift our perception. Our goal? To enable you to take greater joy in your own
company - as well as the company of others. No pretense, just come as you are.

Getting Smarter All the Time
That is what learning is. You suddenly understand something you've understood
all your life, but in a new way. Confucius
Learning. The very act stimulates and energizes women! New ideas, new
approaches, new solutions to old problems Symmetry women love to learn! A
vital part of attaining balance is our intellectual development something we
call Getting Smarter All the Time. Without the constant feeding of our mind, we
stagnate starve become polluted by our own small thinking. Symmetry
encourages women to exercise their minds by listening to or reading up on
different perspectives. We will provide new points of view for you to consider
not just two sides of the story, but ALL sides of the story and then let you
form your own opinions.
We know, we know. It's hard to feed your intellect when the baby is hungry or
when you're juggling the multiple to dos of the day. That's why Symmetry
created Worth Reading and the article section on our website. And that's why
we've hand-selected the best, most thought-provoking, enlightening speakers for
each Symmetry event. Chances are you won't be able to stop thinking about them,
talking about them or telling your friends.

Wake Up Soul It's Morning!
The fourth element of balance is spiritual maturation something we refer to as
Wake Up Soul - It's Morning! Now, we know this can be a real hotbed of a topic.
But the women we know who enjoy the most balanced life are those who are
spiritually mature; these women have a perspective that allows them to live in
greater peace and with greater contentment than others. And they know, as we do,
that spiritual maturation is a life-long process.
Many women seek spiritual direction when they're in crisis. Symmetry believes
that if you're caring for matters of the soul before the state of emergency, you
will be much better prepared to view and respond to the dilemma in a sound
manner. Spiritual maturation doesn't mean that you get a new lucky rabbit's
foot. It means that you are better equipped to deal with life's blows when they
come, and they will come. In addition, those who are spiritually mature often
find their purpose and meaning in life; and they learn how to live daily in full
joy.
Symmetry will serve you soul food for thought for your every life stage. You can
find this information in Worth Reading and in the article archives. It is not
our intent to convert you to any particular faith only to invite you to
consider how you might continue to grow in your own beliefs.
